Chapter 5

(Name) followed close behind Arthur and everyone else, sneaking through bushes and trees to get to the town they all docked in. She was still trying to get used to her baggy clothing and her manly appearance, no matter how necessary it seemed. She noticed Alfred's uneasy expression, but decided not to pry.

Arthur pushed a few more loose branches out of the way, light beaming behind them. "We've arrived," he said, and stepped past the shrubbery as everyone else followed.

(Name) looked past Yao's shoulder to glance at the town. The ground she was standing on was a path made of cobblestone, and so were some of the buildings and houses she saw here. Seagulls were flying overhead and the sun and sky was bright.

A town this stunning and peaceful couldn't possibly be inhabited by the same people
Arthur described.

"Arthur, how would you know about this town before we even got here?" she asked.
Arthur glanced over to Alfred, who nodded, and turned his attention back to (Name). "Because this is the same town Alfred and many others were taken away by the Treasure Hunters the last time we were here. Some of those pirates pretended to be common townsfolk ."

"Oh…"

Arthur nodded. "Whatever you do, don't be fooled by acts of kindness. It could get you captured again." (Name) nodded in understanding and continued walking with them.

She scanned the town and saw a fresh produce stand, and a few alleyways past the stands. On the other side of town, there was the port she saw when they set sail here where boats could come and go freely.

"We should start looking around," said Arthur, and everyone else nodded and split up to search different parts of the town. (Name) stayed with Arthur since she had no idea where she would go.

"Are you hungry (Name)?"  Arthur asked.

She was starting to shake her head when her grumbling stomach answered for her, making her remember that she hasn't eaten in a while, and also making Arthur laugh a bit. "I'll get something for you." He took out an empty sack from under his coat and put some fruit and vegetables into it.

"Um, Arthur isn't that stealing?"

"Not if you pay for it," he said as he took out another pouch, full of money she presumed, and laid it on the stand. "I may be a pirate, but I don't steal or plunder villages like those other brutes." He filled up the other pouch with as many fruits and vegetables as he could, also handing (Name) an apple and a piece of celery to eat along the way. "Alright, this should be enough for all of us. We should put this on the ship"

(Name) nodded and followed behind him, biting of pieces of celery and apple as you walked. Arthur led (Name) back to the ship through the shrubbery and put away the sack of fresh produce after taking an apple and some blueberries, handing some of them to (Name).

"Thank you Arthur," she said.

"Don't mention it poppet," he said sitting down on a crate and started eating his apple and blueberries. (Name) sat next to him and ate the rest of her celery and apple, along with her blueberries.

"Arthur, what do you think we'll find here?"

"I don't know, exactly. We haven't been here for a while, many things could have changed by then."

"Things like what?"

"People of the town, laws, territory. We'll have to be careful, you more than me."
(Name) nodded and looked up to the beautiful blue sky. "Maybe if we're lucky, we'll find and set free some prisoners."

"Speaking of which, there might just be an auction going on at some point around here, in secret of course."

"How will we find it if there is one?"

"Search. If we look well enough we could find it, like last time."

(Name) nodded and stood up as well as Arthur. "We should get going then Arthur. If there are prisoners here, we need to find them as soon as possible."

"My thoughts exactly poppet. Let's go." With that, Arthur and (Name) headed off the ship and to the town again, both hoping they would make some decent progress here.
