FemaleCharacter X Libra Happy (Late) Birthday fic

Libra finished his evening prayers to Naga and went back into his tent to where his loving wife, (Name), and his baby son, Morgan, was waiting for him. Morgan was asleep in his crib and (Name) was humming while she cooked dinner for the both of them. He smiled and sat in a chair near the crib. The gods had blessed him with (Name) and Morgan. His family was all that he could’ve ever asked for in life. Even though they were still in the middle of a war, he was lucky to steal a moment’s time with them while everything was still peaceful.

(Name) finished cooking and set their dinner down on the table seeing he was already back from his evening prayers. She bent down and kissed Libra on the cheek. “Welcome back sweetheart.” He smiled back up at her a greeted her with a peck on the lips and drew her into his arms.

“Hello to you too dear (Name).” Libra pulled out a chair for (Name) and he sat in the chair next to hers. “The little one seems to be fast asleep.” He ate his dinner with her as they spoke.

“Yes he is. He went right to sleep after he was fed.” (Name) washed the dinner plates after they were finished and sat back down next to Libra, taking his hand and lacing their fingers together. “Today is a special day you know.”

Libra glanced her way. “A special day?”

(Name) giggled softly. “Of course it is, for you. It’s your birthday. Don’t tell me you’ve already forgotten your own birthday.” She smiled playfully at him, but she knew she was probably right.

Libra smiled back at her. “It seems I have forgotten. Even after you reminded me ten times. Today.” Libra wrapped his arm around (Name)’s shoulders, pulling her closer to him.

“I’m just relieved that the war has died down a bit so I can spend more time with you and
Morgan. The fact that it’s my birthday is irrelevant to me now. I’d take any day to be with you two like this.”

(Name) snuggled closer to him. “Yes, well it’s still your birthday so I have a present for you.” (Name) reached under the table and pulled out a long box that looked a little heavy but (Name) could still lift it.

“You didn’t really have to give me a present (Name). You’re the best gift I could ask for.”

(Name) giggled and laid the box down on the table. “You’re sweet, but I still want you to open your present.

Libra sighed to himself. There wasn’t really any use in arguing with (Name) about this. He opened up the present box and found within it an axe that would look perfect for him to take into battle. It was one of the best axes he had ever laid eyes on, and it looked like it was reliable as well. “(Name), I don’t know what to say… Where do you get this?”

“Just a ‘thank you sweetheart’ will do. And I didn’t buy it. I crafted it myself with the materials I could find. Look closely at it. The handle holds the same design as the ring you gave me on the day you proposed to me.”

Libra looked at the axe handle. She was right, it really did hold the same design on the handle. She did great to make the axe itself, but she made put the ring design on the axe so it would be Libra’s axe alone.

Libra laid the axe on the table.  “Thank you, and the gods for blessing me with a wife as perfect as you.” He kissed her tenderly on the lips. “I love you (Name).”

(Name) kissed Libra back just as tender. “I love you too Libra.”
